Eclectic United Methodist Church

On April 1, 2010, The Eclectic Kindness Ministry was founded. The kindness ministry is a community-wide food pantry for qualifying Elmore County Residents within ten driving miles of the distribution center, 1st Baptist Church Eclectic. A bog white sign on the north side of the building identifies the entrance. The ministry is open every Thursday from 9am – 12pm.
The ministry is entirely supported by donations from groups, churches, school drives, & individuals. Food is purchased in quantity every 2 weeks from the Montgomery Area Food Bank. Food costs approximately 11 cents per pound, so you can see that donations can go far when we put our resources together. Canned goods, meats, & staple foods at no cost are provided to the recipients. Prayer & spiritual counseling are also provided for all who will receive it.
The mission for Reality & Truth is to provide the amenities of home to the homeless and poor in downtown Montgomery, including Bible studies, showers, laundry, clothing, home furnishings, groceries, financial management, daily dinners, & weekday lunches.
MAFB Mobile Pantries are conducted with one of our pre-qualified, participating agencies. Together we are able to coordinate a substantial, hyper-efficient delivery of nutrition directly to those in need. Each MP routinely delivers between 5 and 7 tons of food, assisting from 120-150 families at ONE time and in ONE place, with each family receiving from 75-100 pounds of vital sustenance.
These community-driven deliveries are operated in partnership with a growing number of
pre-qualified community agencies — religious institutions, churches and non-profits whose missions encompass helping others with food insecurity.
